I am trying to contact fellow lawyers who have an interest in Buddhism with a view to establishing some kind of association. I would like to canvass any interest from relevant individuals in participating in such a project.
I am a practising solicitor with a city centre firm in Manchester. I have been interested in Buddhism and meditation for a number of years and for the last couple of years I have been attending FWBO Manchester Buddhist Centre. I am very interested in how dharma practise can be brought alive in one's professional life working as a lawyer and to bringing a Buddhist perspective on issues in the Law. It would be nice to meet like minded colleagues to share experiences, ideas and sangha. In the US there a number of organisations of Buddhist lawyers but to date I have been unable to find any in the UK. I would very much like to contact any practising or non practising lawyers who are interested in this idea.
I displayed an advert on the notice board at the Manchester Buddhist Centre at the end of last year without any success so I thought if possible I would next try the various FWBO centres/groups around the country. It was suggested I post this message on the London Sangha website to this purpose.
My contact details are: Siôn Wynne at sion.wynne@lindermyers.co.uk.
